On the Dot (hitthedot.app) is a free daily timing game with no accounts and no sign-up. This page lists everything the site stores or shares.

What stays on your device

Your streak, your game in progress and your leaderboard highlight are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The leaderboard

If you choose to put a score on the leaderboard, we store:

• The name you type, your score and the date. These are public on the leaderboard.
• A one-way hash of your IP address. The address itself is never stored. The hash lets us keep one score per player per day and limit spam. It is not shown to anyone.

Submitting a score also runs a Cloudflare Turnstile check to confirm you are human. Cloudflare processes that check under its own privacy policy. Scores are stored with Supabase.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count visits and see how the game is played, such as how many games are finished. PostHog sets a cookie and collects standard information like your browser, device type, approximate location and the pages you view. We do not use it to identify you.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser, to run and secure the service.

Children

The game does not ask for any personal information beyond an optional leaderboard name. Please don't use your real full name on the board.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
